After divorcing more than ten years earlier, Melaine Griffith and Don Johnson shared a phone call that led to their second marriage.

Griffith knew her alcohol and cocaine abuse habits had to stop when she was filming “Working Girl” and found herself feeling “Shabby and tired.
Therefore, while on the plane to the Hazelden Clinic in Minnesota, Griffith called her ex-husband, who had been sober for five years by then. She shared how scared she was for him.
The two had remained close friends after their split, so Griffith felt she could confide in him. He reassured her and told her that he would support her while she was in rehab.
